This is the drawn-out version of what I wrote in my coaching philosophy, and it combines all the training philosophies I have studied so far. It leans more to the endurance training that I have found to work for me in my own personal training but ties into the different energy systems being utilized for the client's goal. The initial assessment will determine the starting point and baseline data needed to track your progress. Some may only spend a day doing one cycle depending on their goal. Some may never even reach all cycles, but I follow this progression in a hard then easy exercise methodology. Why? Because I have learned how important it is to establish a good warmup and being flexible. Staying relaxed and having fun is the key to better performances. The other main point is aerobic base is key to sustain speed/power thresholds or prolonging the peak period. The longer your base the longer you can stress your muscles. It has to do with energy adaptation, and you must build strength before getting into speed sessions to avoid injury. Then specific race conditioning and skill development helps build confidence for higher performances. Finally rest and recovery is very important to maximize output along with understanding the nutritional aspects and the concept of what you put into the body is what you get out in terms of energy. This is best achieved by utilizing a periodization training plan that utilizes different developmental cycles.
Incentive Fitness Challenges
All challenges are designed only for students, but everyone is welcome to try, school records will be only for students and posted in the fitness center office. A general warm up is highly recommended before attempting any challenge and all challenges and records most be recorded by a fitness center staff
