IAIA Sponsored Clubs program is designed to provide structured, and individual activities offered throughout the school year. The IAIA Sponsored clubs’ program has been the foundational element that fosters leadership skill development training opportunities through the organization of different interest areas that coincides with the student activities leadership program and the mission of this institute’s commitment to higher education learning. It is initiated each semester with an interest-survey followed by a collaborative ASG club drive. Once a number of interests sign up, the student activities director will then write up plans for the semester scheduled activities calendar that will cover the survey interest results. This calendar of events will list a schedule of events that coincides with all the club meeting dates arranged in a easy to hard progression of club duties such as the establishment and election processes for club officers and general rules and semester goals. The club officials are then offered an opportunity to complete task associated with leadership development training that offers certifications and practical experience leading small teams in the clubs fund raising activities, while holding the club positions as the president and vice president of the club.
In order to sustain such a comprehensive program with limited staff, IAIA student activities utilize a leadership development model to implement a program that covers the need for our student programming needs. In this way the students are supervised, taught and mentored in leadership skill development as an integral part to the students’ ongoing educational process at this institute of higher learning. In this manner IAIA will set the foundational elements needed for future indigenous leadership growth that transcends back into the large circle of our communities.
